I have been shooting through NB filters from a Bortle 8 site for five years and process in PixInsight. Results are acceptable, but I cannot get the faint background clouds of nebulosity that you always show in your results. Do I need better data, maybe from a truly dark site, or can I rely strictly on some processing tricks? Do you cover this specific topic in your tutorials?

Hi Dave, sorry for replying so late, we were overseas for Christmas and forgot about this! Difficult to answer without seeing what the raw data looks like but: If you're using NB filters you should be fine even from Bortle 8. Many of our images were shot from B9 with NB filters. For faint clouds of nebulosity, first figure out what gas they are (Hydrogen, Oxygen...) and then you can target that in PixInsight and/or shoot more using that filter. Take a look at our services page if you'd like me to give your data a go: https://www.galactic-hunter.com/product-page/astrophotography-image-processing .
