When you think of astrophotography, you think: camera, telescope, and mount. What if we told you that you can take pictures without a telescope or a tracker? If you've got a DSLR camera and a sturdy tripod, you can practice taking photos and SEE results. While the images may not be the best quality, we tested it and it's possible! See how below.
Contrary to belief, you DON'T need a telescope to take good photos of deep-sky objects. Instead of using a telescope, you will use a wide-field telephoto lens. This will help you achieve the zoom needed to get those far-away objects. Find out the targets we suggest and what you'll need as well.
